Job overview
The post holder will provide mobile estates and facilities support across multiple sites, ensuring buildings, services and environments are safe, compliant and well maintained. The role includes carrying out routine estate’s tasks, responding to reactive issues, supporting statutory compliance activities by completing delegated tasks and checks as instructed
Main duties of the job
Driving & Transport
- Drive organisational vehicles safely and courteously at all times.
- Deliver and collect equipment, supplies, documents and/or service users as required.
- Plan routes efficiently to meet service demands and minimise delays.
- Ensure loads are secure and transported in line with manual handling guidance.
Minor Repairs & Handyman Duties
- Undertake minor estates and handyman tasks within own level of competence, such as basic repairs, adjustments and replacements (e.g. fixtures, fittings, furnishings, doors, locks, hinges, shelves, noticeboards).
- Carry out simple painting, touch‑up and patch repairs where appropriate.
- Assemble or move small items of furniture and equipment in line with manual handling guidance.
- Replace consumables and minor components (e.g. toilet seats, taps, locks, signage) where trained to do so.
- Escalate works that are outside scope, require specialist contractors, or present safety risks.
- Ensure all works are completed safely, reported appropriately and recorded where required.
- Does not undertake skilled trade work (e.g. electrical, plumbing, gas) and refers such works to Estates or approved contractors
