Job overview
We are advertising for a part time (2 days per week) Employment & Education Advisor within the ARMS South East Service at Band 4. The service is a multi-disciplinary team and you will be working closely with your colleagues to provide opportunities for service users to re-engage with pathways to employment and vocational opportunities.
Main duties of the job
To manage a caseload of people who have experienced mental health distress who wish to retain and or gain paid employment through delivering a range of approaches including the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach to vocational rehabilitation. The post holder will work directly with mainstream educational providers and employers to secure education/employment opportunities for service users whilst providing on-going support. They will meet regularly with MDT Colleagues to co-ordinate and integrate vocational services into the recovery plan. The post holder will also prepare individuals for employment through assessing each person’s individual educational/ employment needs through vocational profiling.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Manage caseload of service users assessed as being within an ultra high risk of developing a psychotic illness to access education or vocational services.
Provide advocacy to service users whose mental health problems cause temporary problems within their education or work place.
Participate in weekly MDT meetings.
Work alongside other community mental health teams and providers.
