Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

 

Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for you join our Critical Care team here at Mid and South Essex foundation Trust.

Do you possess strong leadership qualities and an advanced level of critical care knowledge if so we want to hear from you .

You will have excellent clinical and technological skills as this is critical to the quality of care, staff morale, and the learning environment.
 
You will be required to establish direction and purpose in order to inspire, motivate and empower the Critical Care team around the common goals to produce real improvements in advanced clinical practice, quality and services.

Main duties of the job

Manage, lead and co-ordinate a dedicated team of nursing and multi-professional support staff to ensure the delivery of a high standard of nursing care.

You will be responsible for the effective deployment of Critical Care resources including manpower.

Adhere to the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Practice at all times and must ensure Critical Care’s compliance with and application of hospital policies and procedures.

The developing, implementation and monitoring of Governance systems in Critical Care relating to Risk Management, Health and Safety and Controls Assurance

Ensure that an individual programme of care is planned, implemented and evaluated for each patient within own sphere of responsibility

Participate in all relevant aspects of the Governance process

Act as a positive role model at all times
