An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a team at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust as an Applications Support Analyst.

Reporting to the Clinical Applications Team Lead the Applications Support Analyst is the Digital  Service Owner for a number of application systems, representing these digital services across the Trust and responsible for the day-to-day management of those services. 

As a key part of a dynamic and evolving service department the Applications Support Analyst will have a strong customer focus, sharing in the ownership of the complete life cycle of the supported applications.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for providing support to the Information Asset Owners (IAOs), Information Asset Administrators (IAAs), and Super Users of Trust Directorates to assist them in managing and using application systems in the delivery of their business functions.

To fully support the IT Service Desk in the resolution of incidents, problem investigations and fulfillment of service requests liaising with 3rd party suppliers as necessary.

To act as the point of escalation (notification) for major incidents, service failures or customer complaint  regarding  the digital  services  supported  and  responsible  for  updating  relevant digital management leads and on-going customer liaison until resolution.

A requirement of the role is to participate in an out of hours on-call rota.

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate

  • Relevant experience in a similar system management role with: Ability to identify support trends (for example, several people call about the same problem in three hours) In depth knowledge and experience of system configuration.
Desirable criteria
  • Significant experience in supporting clinical systems
  • Previous experience working for NHS
