Senior Digital Infrastructure Engineer

Band 8a

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

Job overview

Here at MSE we have an exciting opening for a Senior Digital Infrastructure Engineer to be a part of the Digital Platforms Team delivering high quality support and reliable infrastructure across three acute sites and expanding into the wider local health economy.

At MSE we value the flexible working module therefore we allow our team to work from home when not required on site. However you will need to visit all 3 trusts sites when required and be part of an on call rota.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be able to specify, design, develop, implement and support technical solutions across the MSE trust. You will be liaising with and managing third party suppliers, short-term contractors and trust staff as well as project managers. You should have proven experience of server support with previous exposure to management tools including SCEM and InTune and have a strong understanding of ITIL service management methodologies.

Due to the nature of the position, you will be required to participate in an on call rota, some antisocial hours working for project go lives and occasional physical visits to sites in Essex.

You should live/stay within reasonable driving distance of the Trust’s physical sites.

Working for our organisation

Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and well being of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.

We aim to make the most of our skills and experiences so we can become the best we can be. As one organisation we will recruit the finest and retain more specialist staff due to more employment opportunities across our Trust
