Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

Do you have great social media and marketing skills? Can you create engaging, data-driven campaigns that will help us connect with our patients and staff? Then we have the role for you.

You'll be eager to learn and bring fresh ideas, excellent writing skills and enthusiasm as our digital media and marketing manager.

We will support you to build your skills in a very busy NHS communications team. As part of our data-driven team, you'll be developing objective-focused end-to-end campaigns based on our strategic priorities and supported with performance data. Developing analytics reports to demonstrate our impact and effectiveness will be a key part of your role.

Main duties of the job

 Manage corporate social media channels to optimise engagement, accurately reflecting our organisation and its strategic priorities

Contribute to and implement strategies, operational policies and guidelines relating to social media platforms.

Ensure channels and messages are consistently and professionally monitored and moderated and respond to comments and feedback submitted through social media channels.

Work with teams in the wider organisation to identify social media champions and ensure departmental channels and managed effectively and within policy.

Support senior leaders to use social media effectively.

Work with departments to effectively manage or close down departmental social media accounts in line with policy.

Work with heads of communications and department leads to scope, plan and implement organic and paid social media campaigns and provide evaluation and measurement against SMART objectives. 

Develop and manage digital communications tools to support the wider communications team to achieve team and organisational objectives

Maintain engagement statistics for internal and external digital communications channels, such as hospital website, intranet and social media, and provide reports contributing to communications KPIs and performance report.

Use data to support evidence based development of digital platform content, structure and style.

Support Web and Intranet administrator with adding content to the Trust websites and intranets.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level in a related discipline (communications, PR, marketing, journalism) or equivalent experience
  • Digital communications/PR training/marketing qualification or equivalent experience

Knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Excellent and accurate writing skills, appropriate to audience.
  • Excellent organisational skills and high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven experience of using digital communications tools effectively for internal and external audiences
Desirable criteria
  • Experience working within an NHS communications team
