Job overview
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Trainee Associate Audiologist. Starting at Band 3, this role provides a clear development pathway to Band 4. On completion of the foundation degree and all competencies are achieved.
This will help you to build practical and academic skills whilst working in a supportive team. The Trainee Associate Audiologist role has been designed to allow the success candidate to earn a foundation degree in hearing science whilst working with a clinical, hearing healthcare team.
With an aim to enrol on a FdSc Hearing Aid Audiology course in September 2026, and earning whilst you learn for the duration of the course (2 years), this is a great place to start a career in Audiology.

Main duties of the job
The Trainee Associate Audiologists works as a member of the Audiology team under the direct and indirect supervision of an Audiologist. The post will involve direct patient care, dealing with routine enquiries and performing routine non-complex tasks daily which will include hearing aid repair and maintenance.
There will be a mix of both clinical and administrative duties which have clearly defined protocols and procedures.
As competencies progress they will provide routine adult hearing aid maintenance under indirect supervision, undertake some basic diagnostic assessments and interpret basic clinical results/data. Some administrative support duties may also be required.
The post is designed as a progressive role, undertaking practical and theoretical training in all aspects including completing a Foundation Degree in Hearing Aid Audiology and achieving a Band 4, Associate Audiologist role.
The role requires full engagement in all aspects of the training, including all elements of theory and practice and all tri-partite reviews. You will be required to attend University and must adhere to all University deadlines for submission of work. You will be required to maintain records of all ‘on the job’ learning
