Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Mid and South Essex Trust are looking to recruit Theatre Practitioners across all of our hospital sites and specialties.
We are looking for enthusiastic Registered Nurses/ODPs with sound clinical knowledge with Anaesthetic Skills to develop in your role.

Main duties of the job
Our Theatre Practitioners work towards providing high quality patient care within the perioperative setting. We welcome both experience and non-experience staff to join our supportive team. Training can also be provided to support newly registered operating department practitioners looking for a new career direction.
As a team we aim for excellence in delivering exceptional care, acting with compassion towards our patients and team colleagues whilst appreciating the value and being respectful towards one another. Therefore, experience of team work, team values and safe patient care is very important to this role.
For our successful candidates, we will aid you in the development of your career, and in order to enable this we have a dedicated Practice Development Team to support you. The Trust also provides many other In-house learning opportunities to support your developmental needs.
Your role will assess, plan, implement and evaluate holistic, high quality and individualised care which respects patient personal dignity and beliefs, ensure all patients receive a high standard of care in line with evidence-based practice and maintain a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff.

- Act as practice supervisor or assessor to students, including teaching and assessing within their realm of competence,
- Uphold the philosophy of evidence-based practice,
- Take part in rotation through all specialities in the departments to meet the needs of the service, where required.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Operating Department Practitioner/Registered Nurse with anaesthetic course.
Desirable criteria
- Flexibility in working pattern which includes shift patterns including weekends / bank holidays and commitment for undertaking on calls
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience within operating department including paediatrics during training
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment during training
Desirable criteria
- Committed to own and others personal and professional development
- Maintain an interest in current issues and keep up to date with relevant research.
