Are you looking for a new challenge within the pharmacy department?   Do you want to make a difference to patient care within a hospital setting

The post holder will actively participate in the delivery of Pharmacy services across a range of specialties

The right applicants will be dedicated, hard working individuals that work well in a team environment as well as under own initiative.  Attention to detail and organisational skills are essential.

Main duties of the job

To support services within the pharmacy department including the Dispensary, Procurement, Oncology, Trials and Homecare
To work as part of the near patient dispensing team supplying medication to patients both during their stay and at point of discharge on the ward
To provide advice to patients regarding their medication once fully trained

Previous pharmacy experience would be of benefit, however we welcome applications from those with no previous experience as full training will be given.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Pharmacy department has a 'can do' attitude and strives to provide the best service possible at all times to our patients and our colleagues.  The pharmacy vision is to be a 'service without walls', integrated within the ward teams supporting excellent patient care .

Team work is at the heart of everything we do within pharmacy.  We are a multicultural department with a very friendly atmosphere.  We look after each other as well as the patients within our care.   

The Southend hospital site pharmacy has recently undergone a major upgrade.  We have a state of the art Omnicell automated dispensing robot and a brand new 'built for purpose' Dispensary.
