We are thrilled to offer an exceptional 10-month secondment opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Lead Brachytherapy Radiographer to join our vibrant and forward-thinking team. This role provides the ideal platform to expand your clinical competencies, refine your expertise in image-guided and high-dose-rate brachytherapy techniques, and work with a complex and varied patient cohort.

You will play a pivotal role in delivering advanced oncological care, actively contributing to innovative treatment planning, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary setting committed to excellence. Main duties of the job

To be responsible for supervising the overall running of the HDR Brachytherapy unit ensuring a quality service is delivered. 

Manage the future developments and current service of the HDR brachytherapy suite, ensuring the highest professional and technical standard of care is offered to the patient at all times.

To be Responsible for co-ordinating, developing and delivering a Brachytherapy service. Directly managing several grades of staff. 

Participate in, or direct multidisciplinary discussions about clinical matters that directly Inform decision making to ensure best practice.

Work closely with Oncologists to develop individualized treatment plans that align with clinical objectives and protocols.

Implement departmental policies and procedures, participating in the development as required

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc (hons) Radiotherapy or equivalent
  • HSPC registration
  • Evidence of post graduate study
Desirable criteria
  • MSc level study

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Post-graduate clinical experience with evidence of working clinically at a Senior Radiographer level or equivalent.
  • Extensive working knowledge Brachytherapy
Desirable criteria
  • Male and female catheterisation
  • Participated in the introduction of new techniques to a service
  • Radiographer led dobbie insertion
