Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

 

Job overview

Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust have an exciting opportunity within our Human Resources team!  We are recruiting for HR Business Partner to join our Southend site on a permanent  full time basis. 

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) acts as an internal consultant delivering an enabling business support role , and providing strategic and operational knowledge on people related matters. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support and lead people initiatives across the whole business.  From the initial concept to implementation and continual development, the HRBP will ensure that initiatives benefit both colleagues and services. 

As well as being partner to the service, the post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues across the People and OD function and embrace a 'one team' ethos, continually supporting team development and challenging the status quo to ensure a consistent , value-adding HR provision to leaders and colleagues.

Advise, guide and support leaders on employee relations matters. 

Coach and build senior managers capability to deliver the trusts strategic goal's

Plan, develop and evaluate methods and processes for gathering analysing interpreting and presenting data and information. 

Act as HR lead in both HR work programmes and wider business projects with a HR focus.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level
  • Member of the CIPD (or equivalent professional qualification) with a good understanding of statutory employment legislation and HR good practice
Desirable criteria
  • Chartered Member of the CIPD
  • Additional HR associated qualification, Educated to Masters level

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Substantial experience of operating as an HR business partner in a challenging, multi-functional environment
  • Knowledge across a wide range of HR topics, including Resourcing, Retention, OD and Employee Relations
  • Experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
  • High level project management skills, with an ability to work autonomously managing areas of work and projects to tight deadlines from initiation to completion
  • Detailed knowledge of HR policies and procedures and an up-to-date knowledge of UK Employment law with the ability to interpret legislation and complex information and develop practical workable solutions
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in Health and/or social care
  • Experience of monitoring budgets and of business planning processes

Communication Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to prepare and produce concise, insightful communications for dissemination to internal and external stakeholders
  • Coaching skills underpinned by a collaborative and supportive style of working

Essential criteria
  • Drive for performance and improvement, and flexible in approach and attitude
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of successful line management of staff and proven team leadership and motivational skills
