Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.
We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

Pharmacy Assistant – ePMA & IT Systems
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy ePMA and IT Systems Team within Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
Working across our three acute hospital sites, you will play a vital role as a first-line support contact for staff using the ePMA system and other pharmacy-related digital systems. Your contribution will help ensure the smooth operation of these critical systems, supporting safe and effective patient care.
This role offers a unique opportunity to be involved in a fast-paced and evolving environment, where major digital projects run alongside essential day-to-day system support. You will join a friendly, high-energy, and forward-thinking team committed to innovation and continuous improvement.
We are looking for a proactive individual with strong communication and problem-solving skills, and a keen interest in digital systems within healthcare. You will be supported in developing your knowledge and skills while contributing to the ongoing success of the service.

Main duties of the job
Typical aspects of the role include:
- Running reports and other administrative tasks
- Answering support calls on a dedicated helpline
- Basic support tasks such as password resets, account building and amendments
- Triaging queries to the project and permanent teams
- Undertaking training on the EPMA system
- Assisting in project work
- Carrying out essential safety checks/tasks on the system
- Some cross-site working requirements
The roles are for a 9 - 5 Monday to Friday service, however some degree of flexibility can be considered; provided this does not affect the service operating hours.

- English GCSE (or equivalent) grade C and above (or equivalent)
Knowledge and Experience

- Good computer literacy
- Good knowledge of Microsoft applications.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of pharmacy digital systems.
- Previous experience of working in hospital/pharmacy
Skills
Essential criteria
- Able to communicate and influence staff at all levels using a range of communication methods
- Strong written communication skills and excellent grammar
