Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

Job overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Respiratory Consultant with a specialist interest in Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) to lead and shape the future of our ILD service. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic clinician to take a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across the entire ILD pathway.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving service development, championing clinical excellence, and contributing to education, training, and continuous quality improvement within our dedicated respiratory team.
If you’re passionate about making a real impact in ILD care, we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
Your role will be to partake in a 1:15 rota on call for General Medicine, this will attract a Category B 1% on-call supplement.
You will be expected to promote a friendly and team based working environment – in line with our Trust Values, the teaching of primary care colleagues and junior medical staff through mixture of case-based review and formal teaching activity, undertaking managerial and budgetary responsibilities as required and mandatory involvement in annual appraisals.
Our Respiratory service has facilities and links for the development of Research work and the hospital has an active audit department to which respiratory division tends to contribute to the major national audits on the regular basis.
Working for our organisation
We work together, and in conjunction with MSE Health and Care Partnership, to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients in a compassionate way, and provide a respectful, but vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
From facilities through to consultant specialists we want to be the best, to achieve this we need to recruit not just those who are the finest in their field but also those who have the potential to be. Yes, experience is important but so is outlook – if you are dynamic, forward-thinking and enthusiastic we want you to join us.
We not only offer you a good working environment with flexible working opportunities, but also the opportunity to develop your career with access to appropriate training for your job and the support to succeed and progress.
