Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.
We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.
Job overview
We are currently looking for Band 5 Nurses to come and join our team on Haemodialysis Unit, our 26 bedded chronic and 4 bed acute dialysis unit for Mid and South Essex.
Our ward prides itself in providing a high standard of patient care, experience, and quality service. Our team is friendly, supportive, vibrant and dynamic; everyone is encouraged to participate as a member of the team in developing their nursing skills. We offer a structured band 5 haemodialysis competency programme and support to complete mandatory training.
We hope to attract a wide range of experience for the post; we welcome applicants that are newly qualified or have experience in different areas who would like to join our team therefore previous Haemodialysis experience is preferred but not essential.
Main duties of the job
Your role will be to access, plan, implement, evaluate, holistic, high quality and individualised care which respects our patient personal dignity and beliefs whilst maintaining a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff and promoting effective communication within the care team and with colleagues, patients, relatives and visitors.
You will act as a mentor to students and newly qualified staff including teaching and assessing, within their realm of competence, upholding the philosophy of evidence based practice and assist in the management of the ward budget and ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained advising of any shortfalls and taking action appropriate to their level of expertise.
In this role you will assist your Senior staff with service development and the overall implementation of relevant policies within the department, supporting the Senior Management team with formulation of long term strategic plans which require flexibility impacting across the whole Trust.
You will help to Identify strategies for increasing patient demand whilst being technically competent and clinically effective and maintaining a professional profile and develop skills, knowledge and competencies adhering to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Trust Policies and Procedures
