Band 6

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

Job overview

This is a key role in the Business Analysis and Reporting team which is currently going through an exciting time of change, to bring new technologies to the forefront of its work across the Trust as part of a new Trust wide digital strategy.

The team is transitioning to use Microsoft Power BI as the mainstay for presenting Trust reporting and analysis to operational teams and commissioners alike, to enable greater self service and add more value to the delivery of business intelligence.

With the ability to work flexibly from home or a Trust site, the post-holder will frequently represent the Business Analysis and Reporting directorate as a “first point of contact”, for performance and business reporting requirements.  Working directly with the operational directorates, and also corporate directorates, the post-holder will design, develop and provide highly-complex, specialist analysis reports, on both a regular and ad-hoc basis.  This work will be aimed at supporting operational & resource management, business planning and the corporate requirements of the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder is responsible for coordinating and developing performance improvement projects across the Trust, advising and supporting services on the actions required to improve their adherence to national and contractual standards.

The post holder will apply specialised data analysis and interpretation skills, using current and developing new systems, to provide data for and on behalf of the Trust. The post holder will ensure that relevant, accurate and appropriate information is provided in a timely fashion, and an easily understandable format.  The post holder will also validate the accuracy of outgoing information and communicate complex issues to the appropriate audience for action

The post-holder will play a critical role in the future development of the Trusts performance and business reporting procedures and systems.
