Exercise Physiologist for cardiac rehabilitation service

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

Here at Mid and south Essex foundation Trust we have an exciting opportunity , we are looking for an Exercise physiologist for our Cardiac Rehabilitation service to join our team
In this Role you you deliver high quality cardiac rehabilitation exercise programmes for patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions through formal cardiac rehabilitation classes based in hospital, in the community and virtually.
Contribute to assessing and advising patients following cardiac event including assessment of risk factors and appropriate advice on lifestyle change and provision of information on any test or treatments that are planned.

Main duties of the job
You will deliver exercise based cardiac rehabilitation sessions in line with current BACPR/AACPVR guidelines in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Manage a caseload and work within relevant codes of practice at all times
Deliver exercise classes and functional assessment of all patients referred to the CR service as suited by their clinical condition (strength and balance, high intensity, resistance training etc).
Deliver education sessions during the CR course on physical activity and ‘getting back to normal’ after a cardiac event
Provide telephone advice during phase 2 of cardiac rehabilitation on recovery and exercise.
