Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Job overview

Here is an exciting opportunities for you to join us as a Registered Nurse - ODP. The main duties of the successful candidate are to provide excellent care to our patients in a safe and inclusive atmosphere, fostering good relationships with the multidisciplinary team and keeping standards of care high.

Excellent aseptic skills are essential and a good knowledge of theatre nursing is required.

Training will be given to achieve this role if required.

 

 

 

Main duties of the job

As a theatre scrub nurse/scrub ODP you will deliver holistic, high quality patient care, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care programmes tailored to individual patient needs.

You will maintain a clean and safe working environment ensuring infection control and patient safety at all times.

You will provide support to senior staff contributing to patient care.

While working in theatres, you will maintain and expand on your competencies in the role.

You will respond to patients needs during surgery to ensure optimal outcomes.

Communication  with the multidisciplinary team is key - fostering  good working relationships and advocate for patients.

Supervise learners acting as an excellent role model, always adhering to NMC/HCPC standards and codes of conduct and working within your scope of practice to provide safe and excellent patient care at all times.
