Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

Here is an exciting opportunity or you to join us as a staff nurse.

We are looking for a registrant, ideally with some theatre experience, committed to providing excellent and safe patient care,  working within their scope of practice and adhering to the NMC/HCPC standards at all times.

You will possess excellent communication skills within the multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will be able to work in a variety of surgical specialities and have the ability to work in a high stress environment.

As a teaching hospital, mentorship of learners and students is required.

Main duties of the job

·      Deliver holistic, high-quality, individualised care, ensuring privacy, dignity, and respect for personal beliefs at all times.

·      Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care programmes tailored to individual patient needs.

·      Ensure excellence in patient care, adhering to evidence-based practices.

·      Support team leaders and their deputies, contributing to the overall effectiveness of patient care.

·      Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring infection control and workplace safety.

·      Work within the theatre, developing and maintaining competencies as required.

·      Assess and respond to patients' needs during surgery or treatment, ensuring optimal outcomes.

·      Foster effective communication within the care team and with colleagues, patients' relatives, and visitors.

·      Supervise and assess students, providing teaching and guidance within their scopeof competence, upholding evidence-based practice.

  ·       Adhere to professional standards, continuously developing skills, knowledge, and competencies in line with the NMC code and Trust policies.

  ·      Advocate for patients, ensuring their needs, voices, and rights  are respected.

  ·      Recognise the collective responsibility of all employees in maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

  ·      Participate in specialities rotations, adapting to service needs across various specialities.
