Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow in Gastroenterology and Hepatology for 12 months. This post is aimed at Gastroenterology trainees and provides an opportunity to develop further interest in Gastroenterology or Hepatology at a level 2 training centre as well as endoscopy training skills. The post provides the opportunity for the development of areas of interest in Gastroenterology and Hepatology such as specialist hepatology clinics, specialist IBD clinics, capsule endoscopy, nutrition and endoscopy research.
Main duties of the job
The post consists of 50% service such as clinic or endoscopy and 50% training and development in endoscopy and others aspects of gastroenterology that will be tailored to the successful candidate.
Cheltenham General Hospital and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital have strong reputations for performing high quality endoscopy and endoscopy training. There are many opportunities for the successful applicant to further their endoscopic and training skills. We are not able to offer ERCP or EUS training as part of the Clinical Fellow post.
This post is an ideal platform for trainees at the start of their training and wanting to develop their endoscopic, gastroenterology and hepatology skills in preparation for applying for registrar posts.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MBBS or equivalent
- Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies from a UKFPO affiliated foundation programme or equivalent by time of appointment in line with GMC standards
- MRCP
- Eligiable for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practice
Desirable criteria
- Intercalated BSc or equivalent
- Higher degrees including MSc, PhD or MD
Experience
Essential criteria
- StR 3 and above in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy
- JAG Certificate in Gastroenterology
- JAG Certificate in Endoscopy
- Appropriate knowledge base and Ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
