Job overview

The role is to join the business intelligence unit at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role will be within the analytical team, creating reports and submissions to both internal and external stakeholders.

The role is a great opportunity for entry level analysts who are enthusiastic to learn about how business intelligence can help inform strategic decision making through data.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will support the business intelligence team by making national submissions, along with exposure to generating internal reporting at the request of our operational and clinical staff. The role will involve using analytical software to produce reporting and submissions.

Gloucestershire Hospitals aims to drive a culture that promotes our values (caring, listening, excelling). The business intelligence department is made up of a team of 40-50 staff. It is an exciting time within the department with new developments including the introduction of Tableau, a new data warehouse, expansion of Population Health Management, and the continued implementation of a new EPR system. These developments will continue to make the team pivotal to the post-COVID landscape in Gloucestershire.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The role is a great opportunity for entry level analysts to gain experience within business intelligence, learning how data is stored and extracting to produce reporting that provides insights for operational and clinical staff to help deliver best care for everyone. The successful applicant will contribute to the team by making national submissions on a daily and weekly basis, along with being introduced to ad-hoc reporting from internal stakeholders of the trust.
