Clinical Healthcare Support Worker, Band 3-Oncology Outpatients (30 hours a week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic outpatient HCSW[s] to join our existing teams within Oncology  Outpatients at CGH.  We are looking for HCSW’s who as well as having good organisational and people skills and possess a variety of nursing skills.

We are a dedicated and supportive team that provides treatment and care to a wide variety of patients.  Our departments are busy, unpredictable environments, where we care for patients attending appointments for oncology treatments/ procedures

Our department is open Monday to Friday 8am- 6pm.  The successful candidate[s] will be expected to work within these hours.

To work as part of the outpatient’s clinical team assisting in the delivery of high-quality services under the supervision of qualified staff.  To support all staff with day to day running of services undertaken at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation trust. 

To work well with people at all levels and effectively as a team member. To undertake link roles which will assist in the smooth running of the department.  Ability to provide a variety of nursing and personal care and contribute to a safe and welcoming environment for staff, patients and visitors. To communicate effectively, especially where patient ability to do so maybe compromised and chaperone where required. To contribute towards a forward thinking, compassionate and inclusive workforce that focuses on an engaging team approach.

We are seeking highly compassionate and enthusiastic HCA’s who possess good communication and people skills to help us continue to deliver outstanding care to our patients.  We are an experienced team who care deeply about our patients and their hospital experience[s] with us. 

The successful candidate[s] will be required to work within our Oncolgy Outpatients settings, and rotate to our Chemotherapy administration Outpatient Department  We actively encourage and support appropriate staff development within their role[s].

Our departments are open Monday to Friday 8am- 6pm (with occasional late finishes).

  • Basic IT skills appropriate to role
  • Ability to work on own initiative at times

  • GCSE maths and English, Grade C and above
