Clinical Site Co-Ordinator

Band 7

Guernsey is in the English Channel and offers its residents a great quality of life. It’s the perfect escape for those seeking a laid-back yet adventurous lifestyle and a job with plenty of rewards.

So forget long commutes to work and head for our sandy shores where you’ll find everything you want within easy reach of where you live.

We are looking for a Clinical Site professional to co-ordinate services, initially during the night, weekends and public holidays with occasional week days, across our Acute Services site as well as providing professional advice to staff within Community and Elderly Mental Health when required.  From January 2018, we will move to a 24hr work pattern which will mean more weekday shifts.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing acutely unwell and deteriorating patients across the hospital and making primary assessments, instigating emergency treatments and liaising with critical care and medical teams.   Crucially, you should maximise the efficient and effective utilisation of the hospital beds by co-ordinating transfer of critically ill patients within the hospital and coordinate off island transfers. In equal measure, you will need to use your advanced clinical skills as able and appropriate and be part of the hospital resuscitation team.

Your strong communication skills will come into play as you will work closely with the nursing team in the Emergency Department to ensure beds are allocated to patients within the 4 hour target and act as a senior resource for nursing management of critically ill and highly dependent patients across the Service.

There may be to opportunity for appropriately experienced individual to rotate into the critical care unit if desired.
