Job overview

Applications are invited for the above post from all registered medical practitioners wishing to consolidate or extend their dermatological skills. The post is within a dynamic dermatology department based at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in beautiful North Wales. Glan Clwyd Hospital is one of the three hospitals in North Wales which contribute to the North Wales Dermatology Higher Training Scheme and this post has arisen due to maternity leave within that scheme.

The successful applicant will be supported in their professional development and will gain excellent clinical and teaching experience.

Glan Clwyd Hospital has recently gone through a major refurbishment and the Dermatology Outpatient Department now offers a modern up to date clinical facility.

Main duties of the job

INTRODUCTION

Applications are invited for a Locum Appointment for a Service Specialty doctor in Dermatology.  This exciting opportunity has arisen to cover 6 sessions within the North Wales Dermatology higher training programme. The dermatology department at Glan Clwyd delivers outpatient services for patients with skin cancer and inflammatory skin diseases.  In addition, the department provides specialist clinics in patch testing, paediatrics and acne as well as supporting in patients with acute dermatological diseases. The post is available from December 2023 for a fixed term of 12 months, with a view to extension. Applications are welcomed from all registered medical practitioners wishing to consolidate or extend their dermatological skills. The post will provide an excellent platform for candidates who are considering a career in dermatology. The post is based at Glan Clwyd District General Hospital, Bodelwyddan, Rhyl.

 

JOB PLAN

6 sessions will support an increase capacity within the high demand patients group of Urgent Suspected Cancer out-patients, USC Minor operation treatment and also over clinical target surveillance patients.

Clinical Experience
