Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a GP with Specialist Interest in Musculoskeletal medicine in the East Area of BCUHB, working within CMATS. The post holder will be responsible for the triage of patients, assessment and management of complex patients, training and support/supervision of staff, as well as the development of the CMATS service in BCUHB.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will have a broad background of experience in general practice and in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic medicine.
The role involves providing a face to face clinical service to patients triaged to the CMATS clinics. This includes working in conjunction with an experienced and dynamic team of Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapists, Consultant Therapist and Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists and Podiatrists.
The service has close links and networks with Consultant colleagues in Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Pain services and other specialist centres.
The post holder will also provide medical leadership, oversight and support to the Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapists and Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists and Podiatrists within the CMATS team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Education / Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • Full GMC Registration or appropriate clinical Registration
Desirable criteria
- • Formal Postgraduate Orthopaedic/Musculoskeletal training
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- • Knowledge of methods of developing quality assurance, quality improvement and evidence based clinical practice.
- • Knowledge of the range of North Wales Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal services and current referral processes
- • An understanding of the implementation of evidence based medicine in service development
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of current services available within the CMATS Service (Centre)
- Awareness of the clinical governance issues associated with provision of Orthopaedic Triage and Treatment

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
