Your main duties will include assisting with both patient and non-patient moving & handling, cleaning duties and waste disposal, transportation and reporting of equipment, re-stocking and ensuring the department is safe and tidy.
You must have good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and be able to remain calm in a busy environment.
Main duties of the job
Come and join our enthusiastic, dynamic, flexible and professional theatre team based at Basingstoke North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke. We work across a wide range of specialties and offer the opportunity to rotate developing your practice.
The Surgical Services Division is seeking a Theatre porter to be based in the Main Operating Theatre Department. The post-holder will provide a range of support duties within the Main Theatres suite. You will need to be flexible over a range of shift patterns.

Essential criteria
- Good standard of education including numeracy and literacy skills
Desirable criteria
- Customer care support training or similar experience.
Experience & Knowledge

- Experience of working in a busy environment with conflicting demands

- Experience of working in an NHS environment or public sector.
Skills & Ability
Essential criteria
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including excellent telephone manner.
