Job overview

Hampshire Hospitals NHS foundation Trust is seeking a full-time, enthusiastic Specialty Doctor in Ophthalmology. The role is primarily based in Basingstoke and North  Hampshire Hospital and offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated clinician with ophthalmology experience to further develop their specialty skills. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the quality and delivery of our comprehensive eye care services.

Main duties of the job

Outpatient Care: See new and follow-up patients in general ophthalmology clinics, with a named consultant available for case presentation and support if required. 

Patient Standards: Demonstrate a determination to meet and exceed the standards of the NHS Patients Charter and the Trust values.

Emergency Care: Participate in treating emergency eye patients through the emergency eye clinic during normal working hours.

Audit & Education: Participate actively in clinical audit and educational activities within the department and across the Trust.
