The role is a primary function supporting the team for the optimal care of our patients. The delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate health care to the patients of the Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust is the most important objective for the organisation

Main duties of the job

The role of the Nursing Associate is to Assist and support the qualified health professionals in ensuring optimal care for the patients and the success of the trust.  The delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate health care of patients of the Hampshire hospitals Foundation Trust is the most important objective for the organisation.

Person specification

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent or above in health or health and social care or working towards an award.
  • Foundation degree in health and social care
  • ESOL Level 2 or equivalent (if English is not first language).
  • Literacy level 2 or equivalent (GCSE A-C).
Desirable criteria
  • BSc in Health and social care

Experience & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience in health/health and social care role
  • Able to demonstrate current knowledge and identify current learning needs
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding NHS/Social care systems
  • Previous NHS experience

Skills & Ability

Essential criteria
  • Good written and verbal communication within the English language
  • Able to work within a team
  • Able to meet the minimum skill set within the first 12 months of appointment with support and development where required (list of skills defined in generic competency framework).
  • Effective patient/client care skills

Other Specific Requirements

Essential criteria
  • Should be willing to work flexible hours on occasion.
Desirable criteria
  • Full driving licence and access to own vehicles which can be insured for business use.
