We are in the fortunate position, after a successful business case, to offer two new clinical pharmacist posts to join our innovative and progressive Hampshire Hospitals Cancer Services Pharmacy team. This is a unique role in which you can develop your specialist skillset and advance your clinical skills.
- As an Specialist Pharmacist, you will have a patient facing role working within a multi-disciplinary team, on inpatient and day-case units to support the delivery of systemic cancer treatments.
- Through a competency based program, you will gain experience and training in Haematology and Oncology, enhancing your advanced clinical skills and building your non-clinical skills.
- The successful candidate will be provided with the support of a well-established team, opportunities to develop and embed their careers, and to make a difference to patients’ lives.The successful applicant will also have excellent personal development opportunities including the opportunities to develop further as an Independent Prescribing Pharmacist, and to receive training and experience as a nationally accredited haematology and oncology Clinical BOPA Pharmacist.
Main duties of the job
- To develop, deliver and evaluate the Trust’s cancer services in line with the NHS Long Term Strategy for Cancer.
- To collaborate with the Lead Pharmacists for Cancer Services to ensure the provision of an effective, efficient, and high quality, patient focused clinical pharmacy service for all patients.
- To attend and participate in regional cancer services meetings and projects, with a view to improving HHFT services.
- To manage people to ensure the effective operation of the services provided by the Business Unit.
- To assist the Lead Speciality Pharmacists, Associate Director of Pharmacy, and senior managers in providing a comprehensive clinical pharmaceutical service for the patients of Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT).
- To act as one of the Authorised Pharmacists to final release aseptically prepared chemotherapy products for patient use – products prepared in the onsite aseptic unit, and those outsourced.

Qualification
Essential criteria
- GPHC registration
- MPharm or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Independent prescriber
- Educational supervisor or equivalent
- BOPA SACT screening accreditation
Experience
Essential criteria
- Work in a hospital clinical pharmacy environment
- Line management experience
Desirable criteria
- Experience in cancer services
- Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- PG cert clinical pharmacy
Desirable criteria
- ● We are willing to consider offering lower banded transitional positions to pharmacists who do not meet some of the essential criteria, but are interested.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
