Locum Consultant Radiologist - Interventional

Consultant

Our cultural ambition is to have a culture that places people at the heart of all we do, where we all belong, and where learning, improvement and excellence thrive.

Trosolwg o'r swydd

The highly regarded, forward-thinking Radiology Department at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Locum Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Interventional Radiology to join our friendly and ambitious team. This opportunity has arisen following the departure of a colleague and offers the chance to become part of a thriving service while recruitment to a substantive post is underway.

This is an exciting time to join Hampshire Hospitals. We are investing in our Interventional Radiology service, with refurbishment and modernisation of our angiography suites currently underway to provide a state-of-the-art working environment. The successful applicant will work across both Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, delivering a broad and rewarding mix of vascular and non-vascular intervention alongside an expanding interventional oncology service.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

We are looking for a locum consultant interventional radiologist diagnostic.

The successful candidate will join a supportive, collaborative team of consultant radiologists with strong links to vascular surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, urology, oncology and other multidisciplinary teams. We pride ourselves on fostering innovation, service development and high-quality teaching, and welcome applicants who are keen to contribute ideas and help shape the future direction of the service.

Whether you are looking for a short-term locum position or are interested in exploring a longer-term opportunity within a progressive department, this post offers an excellent balance of varied case mix, modern facilities and a welcoming team in one of the UK's most desirable regions.

We use Sectra PACS and CRIS as part of the SWASH+ consortium (HHFT, Southampton, Portsmouth, Salisbury, Isle of Wight and Southern Health), and Talking Point voice recognition software across HHFT Radiology. All HHFT radiologists have access to pooled administration and IT support.

Gweithio i'n sefydliad

Across HHFT we currently have 2 IR/Fluoro rooms and 1 Interventional room,  2 clinical rooms for ultrasound guided procedures, and day case recovery faculties on each site,  5 static CT scanners and 3 static MRI scanners (details below).  This includes a private imaging facility on the Basingstoke site (Candover Clinic) which is part of the NHS trust and offers general X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI. Insignia PACS, CRIS and Talking point Voice Recognition are integrated across HHFT (PACS system undergoing replacement currently).  Home-reporting workstations are provided for all Consultant Radiologists to facilitate the on-call service, flexible reporting and additional voluntary reporting (‘insourcing’).

The diagnostic on-call runs from 1700 – 2000 weekdays and 0900 – 2000 at the weekend, a separate rota for each site. An out of hours IR service is provided via a regional network with Frimley Health Foundation Trust.

The trust has recently committed to a multi-million pound programme of investment to refresh diagnostic imaging equipment over the next 10 years. The department has already benefited from a completely new fleet of Ultrasound machines, new X-ray rooms, and a new CT scanner. Two new MRI scanners are to be installed at the end of 2023.
