Job overview

Would you like to start your career in the NHS? Are you over 18 years of age. (Minimum age requirement for this post)

Then why not join us as a Health Care Support Worker at Hampshire Hospitals.

We are recruiting now for Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital across our various wards. Please note: this vacancy does not include Paediatrics or Maternity ward vacancies.

We will be holding an in-person HCSW Interview Day on Monday June 20th 2024 at the Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital (Basingstoke). The event will include a presentation and a face-to-face interview.

To book your place, simply apply here to confirm your attendance. We will contact you with further information about the day and to arrange your face to face interview times once the advert closes.

Main duties of the job

Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) at Hampshire Hospitals work across a variety of settings, from Elderly Care to Elective Surgery. The choice is yours. As a healthcare support worker, you’ll work under the supervision of a healthcare professional, supporting them and helping patients on their journey back to full health.

We have the training, support, education, and opportunities to help you make the very most of your talent. Whether that means becoming a registered nursing associate, registered nurse, midwife or physiotherapist of the future, or moving into a management role or simply being the best Healthcare Support Worker you can be.

It’s a hands-on role – one minute you could be taking blood and the next lending an ear to an anxious patient – but it’s one of the most rewarding. Duties include monitoring patients and performing basic health checks, making patients feel comfortable, washing and dressing patients and helping to feed patients.

Working as a Healthcare Support Worker is a vital role within the team and if you’re positive, caring and have a can-do attitude – we want you to join us.

Working for our organisation

Virtually all the roles are shift based covering 7 days a week – but there’s enhanced pay for any unsocial hours.

Your life outside work is important, and we are happy to offer full time and part time roles - please discuss details with us during the interview session.

Important: this vacancy is for external candidates or HHFT employees who are not Healthcare Support Workers. If you already work at HHFT as a HCSW (permanent or bank contracts) and wish to change areas/wards, you should not apply for this vacancy - please contact your line manager instead.

WE DO NOT OFFER VISA SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE
