Job overview
We are expanding our bank radiographer staff for in-hours and out of hours shifts, working at Basingstoke & North Hants Hospital and Alton Community Hospital X-ray departments.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for good communicators with an ability to work both autonomously and in a team; someone with a proactive and flexible approach to provide the best care for our patients across the 24/7 service.

We are a busy Radiology Department who undertake examinations of patients from ED, outpatients and GPs along with theatre work for orthopaedics, urology and GI.
We have some new equipment installed, with more on the way to create a great working environment.

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BSc or equivalent in Radiography
- HCPC Registration
- Portfolio of evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Evidence that knowledge of general imaging is up to date
Desirable criteria
- Up to date mandatory training
Experience & Knowlege
Essential criteria
- NHS experience as a radiographer or student
- Able to demonstrate sound clinical knowledge of radiographic procedures including Radiation regulations IR(ME)R, Health and Safety, QC, QA
- Computer literate
- Experience with CR/DR systems, PACS and RIS
Desirable criteria
- Experience in more than one hospital
- Experience of working with students
- Previous out of hours experience
Skills & Ability
Essential criteria
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Evidence of ability to assess the needs of the patient
- Ability to safely use a wide range of manual handling equipment as provided by the Trust
- Ability to wear radiation protection clothing at 0.35Pb equivalent for periods of up to 4 hours
Other Specific Requirements

- Evidence of participation in teamwork
- Ability to use own initiative
- Demonstrates professional approach, in demeanour, appearance and time keeping
