Job overview
We are looking for a Bank Radiographer with a commitment to outstanding patient care and high quality imaging to join our friendly and dynamic team at Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
We have an X-ray equipment replacement programme underway. This is an excellent opportunity to be here at the inauguration.
Main duties of the job
You will undertake general, trauma and fluoroscopic radiography examinations following departmental protocols, providing a high standard of imaging.
We are looking for good communicators with an ability to work both autonomously and in a team; someone with a proactive and flexible approach to provide the best care for our patients across the 24/7 service.

We are a busy Radiology Department who undertake examinations in a number of modalities, across 2 sites. The main facilities are Royal Hampshire County Hospital (RHCH) with satellite services at Andover Community Diagnostic Centre.

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BSc or equivalent in Radiography
- HCPC Registration
- Portfolio of evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Evidence that knowledge of general imaging is up to date
Desirable criteria
- First aid/BLS qualified
Experience & Knowlege
Essential criteria
- Wide range of radiographic NHS experience gained as a student or previous post/s
- Able to demonstrate a sound clinical knowledge of radiographic procedures, including: -Radiation regulations (IRMER), -H&S -Quality Control -Quality Assurance -Clinical Audit
- Computer literate
- Experience with CR/DR systems and PACS
Desirable criteria
- Experience in more than one hospital
- Experience of working with students
- Experience with DR systems
- Knowledge of current NHS trends which may influence service provision.
- Previous experience of emergency duties (possibly as a student)
Skills & Ability
Essential criteria
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Evidence of ability to assess the needs of the patient
- Ability to safely use a wide range of manual handling equipment as provided by the Trust
- Ability to wear radiation protection clothing at 0.35Pb equivalent for periods of up to 4 hours
