Main duties of the job

The Pathology IT team at UHS are looking for support to expand our service with a dedicated role for Order Communications within the team

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

1.    Management & support of LIMS, core IT systems and IT developments within Pathology.
2.    Role requires significant IT experience to provide specialist IT knowledge and support for the implementation of complex IT projects at organisational and departmental level.
3.    The programmes assigned to the post holder will be strategic and the post holder will be required to deal with stakeholders at all levels.
4.    The role requires an excellent knowledge of digital and other IT systems, knowledge and understanding of underlying technical infrastructure and dependencies.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Degree or equivalent specialist knowledge and experience.
  • Evidence of recent further professional development.
  • Strong evidence of detail knowledge of IT Systems.
  • Experience of service improvement techniques.
  • Experience of delivering IT projects.
  • Experience leading change management
  • Evidence of presenting complex information to internal and external groups in an understandable way
  • Evidence of leading change through empowering people and holding them to account
  • Experience of working to demanding and competing timetables
Desirable criteria
  • Experience working with databases and systems.
  • Knowledge of multi-user systems and database structure
  • Significant knowledge of healthcare system configuration and NHS data definitions.
  • Experience of managing interfaces and integration between clinical IT systems both internally to Trust and externally to other healthcare clients or networks
  • Experience in applying NHS Digital standards within Pathology systems.
  • Previous experience of working in a Pathology environment
