This new facility is a testament to our Trust’s ongoing commitment to enhancing healthcare services in the region and working collaboratively with orthopaedic services across Hampshire and Isle of Wight to serve patients across our communities.

Main duties of the job
· To co-ordinate the administrative services for the Hampshire Orthopaedic Centre working with the Operational Management team and Clinical Matron to ensure an effective and patient focused service.
· You must ensure the provision of high quality patient care by providing an efficient and effective administration service for the Centre and support the Operational Service Manager and Clinical Matron. The post holder will be a key point of contact for patients and to allay anxieties and fears through a polite, friendly and professional approach.
· To book, cancel and rebook patients and pre-assessment clinics as required, with awareness of national requirements and breach dates/targets and clinic utilisation, escalating as appropriate.
Carrying out administrative duties as required for the HOC senior leadership team which may include but not limited to: supporting with departmental performance review data gathering, recruitment processes, attending meetings and note taking, submitting performance data as required.

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good standard of general education including English and Maths GCSE level 4 (Grade C) and above or equivalent qualification.
- A levels/NVQ 3 or able to demonstrate equivalent level of experience in an administration or secretarial capacity
- ECDL or equivalent IT experience
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of continuing personal and professional development
Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Experience of operating a computer system
- Experience of working procedures and practices gained in medical education, HR or operational administration.
- Previous problem-solving experience
- Experience in managing rotas
- Managing own workload
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in a busy NHS environment
- Knowledge of CLW rota or Medirota
- Familiarity of HHFT policies and procedures
Skills & Ability
Essential criteria
- Excellent IT skills with knowledge of various computer packages including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet applications
- Knowledge of general office working procedures
- Ability to investigate and solve problems and queries where able
- Awareness of raising issues with a manager
- Ability to plan and organise own workload effectively to meet deadlines
- Excellent prioritisation and organisation skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team
