Hampshire Hospitals have vacancies for experienced CT radiographers or radiographers willing to undergo our departmental CT Training. Successful candidates will join our dedicated team of Radiographers offering unparalleled CT services to our patients
You will be joining the department at a very exciting time when our Radiology Department has engaged in a fully managed equipment replacement programme. This will result in a departmental refurbishment and installation of new imaging equipment incorporating the latest technology.
This post is based at the Royal Hampshire County hospital in the vibrant city of Winchester. In our CT suite, we have brand new Canon Prism and a Canon Prime scanners. We also have a community diagnostic centre based in Andover, where we have a Canon CT unit, we are currently in the process of expanding to include a MR unit alongside, providing an excellent community service to our patients.
Additionally, we have another 2 Canon CT scanners in Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and are anticipating the installation of another Canon Prime scanner on the Basingstoke site, this will facilitate the introduction of the Targeted Lung Health Screening across the Trust. Cross site working is supported and our teams work closely together to share knowledge and support.
Main duties of the job
HHFT supports specialist services for rare and complex illnesses for patients from across the UK, including liver cancer, colorectal cancer and pseudomyxoma peritonei. We undertake a wide variety of CT imaging examinations to complement these specialities including body imaging, and CT colonography. We also perform a wide range of vascular, oncological, MSK, trauma and neurological studies as well as developing an expanding cardiac and ablation service.
Therefore, with the expansion of Radiology services over the next few years and enhanced scope of practice available, this is an ideal opportunity to expand your portfolio.
We welcome applications from experienced CT Radiographers and Radiographers wanting to diversify their knowledge by undertaking our Training Program. Candidates will have effective leadership skills, have a proactive approach to providing outstanding care for every patient. Ideal candidates will be a well organised team player, with great clinical knowledge, good communication skills and the ability to prioritise ever-changing worklists. An excellent working knowledge of CT and patient safety is essential with the ability to participate in our extended day,
nights, and weekend service. Trainees are expected to have a good baseline knowledge of radiography and be highly motivated to undertake independent learning throughout the Training Period.

Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BSc Diagnostic Radiography of equivalent
- HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
- IV cannulation/ drug administration
- Post graduate training
Knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
- NHS radiographic experience
- Evidence of mandatory training
- Sound clinical knowledge,
- Knowledge of IR(ME)R
Desirable criteria
- NHS CT
- Knowledge of current NHS policies/guidelines
- PACS and RIS experience
