Job overview

Come and join our friendly theatre team based at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital. 

As a theatre porter you will work alongside nursing, medical and other health care professionals to support our service. You will transfer patients within the peri operative environment and ensure the theatre environment is a safe,  well stocked and clean working area.

Main duties of the job

The Surgical  Division is seeking a full-time theatre porter  based in the operating theatre department. The postholder will provide a range of support duties within the theatre suite. You will need to be flexible to cover a range of shifts including late duties and weekend work.

Your main duties will include assisting with both patient and non-patient manual handling, cleaning duties and waste disposal and you will ensure that the department is always kept tidy. You will  also have store management responsibilities.

You must have good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and be able to remain calm in a busy environment. This is a demanding role which requires a good level of physical resilience.

We are based at Winchester Royal Hampshire County Hospital where you will be part of a small but busy team who assist in the running of our operating theatres.
