Wye Valley NHS Trust is looking for an exceptional leader with a successful track record in healthcare to take on the role of Managing Director, leading the Trust and executive team on a day-to-day basis and supporting the Foundation Group Chief Executive.

We have stable and strong team of Board members, with considerable experience within the NHS, as well as both wider public and private sectors. This has culminated in quality and safety improvements, and recognition that we are one of the most improved Trusts in the country.

We are now planning for an exciting future as a significant provider of community and hospital care to almost 195,000 people in Herefordshire and more than 40,000 people in mid-Powys, Wales.  As an active partner within the Foundation Group and Herefordshire and Worcestershire Integrated Care System. We have expanded our capacity and are currently developing new diagnostic services as well as undertaking considerable investment in our medical staff, as part of an ambitious clinical services strategy.

Main duties of the job

As Managing Director you will support the Chief Executive Officer to fulfil the role of Accountable officer for Wye Valley NHS Trust by leading the Trust on a day to day basis.

The post holder will also play a key part in the development of the Foundation Group and in the transition towards creating an Accountable Care Organisation in Herefordshire.

The Managing Director will ensure that there is constant and visible Trust wide leadership to direct and lead the Executive team to ensure delivery of its performance, financial and governance requirements.
