Job overview
This job is designed for anyone wishing to gain experience in cardiology as a career. Widespread experience will be gained in non-invasive cardiology. It is ideally suited to anyone completing foundation year 2.

Main duties of the job
This would suit someone wishing to gain experience in cardiology with a view to entering specialist training, CESR, or a non-consultant grade career in cardiology. Anyone completing foundation year 2 (or equivalent) or beyond would be an ideal candidate and would ideally continue in post for 2 to 3 years before moving on for wider experience. They will gain experience in clinic and on the wards and would support the imaging service. They would be offered funding and training to CTCA level 2 if they wished, focused echocardiography (BSE level 1), and experience in myoview scanning and reporting. Previous experience in cardiology is not required and full training in OPD and to see referrals would be delivered by the Consultants.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Running a rapid access chest pain clinic
- Supervising of & the reporting of nuclear perfusion scans
- An echocardiography session
- An outpatient clinic
- Involvement with the care of Cardiology in-patients
- Attendance at Multidisciplinary meetings
- Involvement in audit & education
- Full training & supervision will occur in all of the above, & all aspects of non invasive Cardiology

Education & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full GMC Registration
- License to practice
- Completed foundation year 2 or the equivalent
- Current ALS

- Part 1 MCRP
Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Demonstrates success of working within and leading a multi-disciplinary team.
- 12 months paid NHS experience as a doctor
- General medical experience
