This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated Nursing team on Lugg ward, which  is a 30 bedded ward.

Lugg looks after medical patients and are specialist in cardiology and Gastroenterology nursing, we are supported by specialist nurses in these areas. 

As a registered nurse you will be responsible for promoting and implementing practice conducive to the development of high quality patient care by providing professional and clinical  leadership.  You will be expected to take charge of the Unit in the absence of the ward Sister and provide support and guidance to all staff. 

To facilitate multidisciplinary patient centred care in the role of named nurse/team leader. To assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.  On a regular basis, accept the responsibility for the management/leadership of the ward/department in the absence of the senior nurse. To participate in the supervision and teaching of staff and students.

Main duties of the job

Lugg are looking for an experienced registered nurse to provide excellent patient care. 


 As a registered nurse on Lugg  you will have responsibility for monitoring standards and quality in the development, implementation and evaluation of patient care. You will monitor and support  staff training and education, risk management reporting at ward level and budget control including allocation of resources.


 A strong clinical background in acute general medicine is desirable for this role and knowledge of caring for patients with impaired cognition issues, to support the nursing team and ensure our patients receive the right standard of care.


As a registered nurse, you will work closely with the multi professional team members to enhance service delivery. As an individual new to the role, you will be well supported by your peers within the medical division.
Applicants should be willing to embrace and able to facilitate change.

 

Applicants should already be an NMC Practice Supervisor/ Assessor or willing to undertake the relevant training.

 

 Nurses on Lugg are expected to adovcate on act on behalf of patients, carers and staff to ensure their views are represented.
