This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified / experienced paediatric dietitian to to take on this  Band 7 role, leading the paediatric dietetic service at Wye Valley NHS Trust. 

Main duties of the job

The band 7 will lead on service development in the paediatric dietetic service working closely with other HCPs / stakeholders. 

You will also carry an outpatient caseload including HEF, 1:1 clinic appointments and providing group education as required. You will  provide dietetic support to the children's ward at The County Hospital.

You will provide supervision and guidance to the Band 6 paediatric dietitian. 

The lead paediatric  dietitian will also support the wider dietetic service, supervising junior staff members and students.

This role is advertised as 30hours however flexible working can be considered.

Education & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc/MSc/PGDip in Nutrition and Dietetics & Current HCPC registration
  • Relevant postgraduate award in Dietetics e.g. Paediatric Course MSc module
Desirable criteria
  • BDA Member

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Broad up to date knowledge and practical application of Paediatric Dietetics
  • Able to communicate with clients using dietary counselling, motivational and negotiation skills
  • Able to be flexible and adaptable in terms of working hours and work location
  • Evidence of ability to lead on projects involving other members of the Dietetic Department/ MDT
  • Able to plan and prioritise own caseload using time management skills and adapt to unpredictable work patterns and frequent interruptions
  • Presentation and teaching skills
  • Able to appraise own performance and that of others
  • Interest in training student dietitians

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven experience working as a Dietitian
  • Experience of working with paediatric patients with a range of conditions
  • Experience of multidisciplinary team working
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of developing policies/procedures on areas of Paediatric Dietetics
