Job overview
Working hours will be subject to agreement between the successful candidate and the service management, but will include weekend working. Previous hospital or Pharmacy experience would be an advantage, although not essential. Full training in all aspects of the post will be provided.
Main duties of the job
Aspects of the post will include:
- receipt of medicines and Pharmacy sundries
- completion of electronic and paper records
- interaction with suppliers and clients to provide and promote a responsive and efficient service.
- review and approval of invoice and financial statement documentation

The ability to meet the safe moving and handling requirements of the post, with any aids or adaptions that may be required, are essential. This role requires repetitive lifting and long periods of physical activity.

Education & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmaceutical Services or Unit accreditation within their specialised area or equivalent – or on the job training
- 4 GCSE’s to include Maths, English and one Science subject or equivalent experience
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Essential criteria
- Competent operational user of standard Microsoft Office tools
- Competent keyboard and screen operator skills
- Ability to concentrate with attention to detail and accuracy
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience within a Pharmacy environment, or experience within an equivalent healthcare services department
- Experience within a Pharmacy supply environment, or experience within an equivalent healthcare services supplies department
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
