Hereford County Hospital is a busy district general hospital serving the population of Herefordshire, Powys and parts of Shropshire. We currently have vacancies within our team in Radiology. Are you newly qualified or due to qualify Summer 25? Or are you looking for a new challenge?

The Radiology department in Hereford has undergone significant changes over the last 5 years since entering into a partnership with Philips and you will have the opportunity to work with up to date technology, in 2021 we opened a  new interventional suite, new MRI scanners and our third CT scanner.

This post offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of our Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), due to open in  the Summer of 2025 in Hereford.  

The Community Diagnostic Centre will incorporate Imaging (Plain X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI), a range of cardiorespiratory investigations  and pathology services in a "one stop" location to obtain diagnostic information.   Community Diagnostic Centre 

Successful candidates will work at the Hereford County Hospital site initially and then in rotation between the hospital site and our CDC site which will open in 2025.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will be expected to have B.Sc Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualifications or due to qualify in Summer 2024. Our band 5 rotation will include rotation into CT, general x-ray, theatres and mobiles  and working towards cannulation certification within the first 6 months. We are a busy department and there is a requirement for applicants to participate in our 24/7 shift system as well as weekend on call for theatre. 

The post holder will be expected to produce imaging to the highest standards, offer training and support for diagnostic radiography students from BCU, University of Gloucester and University of Worcester.
