Job overview
Wye Valley NHS Trust would like to recruit an exceptional forward- thinking, highly motivated pharmacist to lead of the strategy for pharmacy workforce development, education and training. This position will be based at Hereford County Hospital but there is a requirement to collaborate with other organisations representing One Herefordshire Pharmacy.
This is a new position and is an exciting opportunity to lead the training and development of our enthusiastic team including clinical, technical and support staff.
Our intention is to ensure every staff member has the opportunity to develop and reach their full potential including working across the interface at both pre and post registration level.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for workforce development including managing the pharmacy education and training team, developing a workforce development strategy.
The post holder will act as a role model for education and training and use their specialist knowledge to develop our team of staff.

Education & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Evidence of registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Post graduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy
- Independent Prescribing Qualification
Desirable criteria
- Relevant management and/or teaching education qualification and experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant pharmacy experience (in either acute hospital or higher education setting) demonstrating clinical and management effectiveness sufficient to develop and proactively lead the pharmacy team
- Experience of developing the pharmacy workforce
- Experience of supervising others, leading and managing change, working at a leadership level, a record of achievement in leading and managing change, solving problems and managing complex situations
Skills
Essential criteria
- Strategic approach (to be able to promote a strategic vision for workforce development, education and training including clear objectives
- Excellent communicator/presenter (both verbal and written) including complex situations including sensitive and contentious issues including the ability to influence colleagues.
- Evidence of commitment to Continuing Professional Development
Desirable criteria
- Able to influence, motivate and persuade, using tact and persuasive skills
