This fast-paced Band 3 role balances operational tasks with leadership. Working side-by-side with frontline Band 2 teams, you will support our Band 4 Site Supervisor to manage a busy 7-day service.

Why join us?

• Higher Pay: Band 3 base salary plus NHS weekend enhancements.
• Great Benefits: NHS Pension Scheme, generous annual leave, and Blue Light discounts.
• Progression: Gain hands-on experience managing teams, solving problems, and running shifts.
• Support: Partner with a Band 4 Supervisor to handle daily staffing challenges.
• Balanced Hours: 5.5-hour shifts keep you visible on the floor during key service windows.

Main duties of the job

What you’ll actually be doing:

  • On-the-Job Supervision: Spend your shift leading by example—working alongside the team to deliver gold-standard cleanliness and catering services while keeping standards high.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, motivate, and guide our frontline Band 2 Domestic and Catering staff, addressing daily operational challenges head-on.
  • Operational Support: Partner closely with the Band 4 Site Supervisor to handle rotas, quality audits, stock control, and staff training.

Who we need:

  • An Experienced Professional: Someone with a proven background in domestic cleaning or catering who understands how a professional kitchen or cleaning operation works.
  • A Resilient Leader: Someone who isn't afraid of a challenge, can manage staff fairly, and handles a busy environment with a calm, practical approach.
  • A Team Player: A reliable partner who our Band 4 Supervisor can trust to keep things running perfectly when they aren't on the floor.
  • Flexibility: The commitment to work a varied, flexible rota across 7 days to support our hospital service.
