Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Bladder & Bowel to deliver a Trial without Catheter (TWOC) project to improve standards of community catheter care within East and North Hertfordshire

Main duties of the job

o   To communicate information to carers, colleagues and other health/social care professionals, information that is complex, highly sensitive and emotive, overcoming difficulties in cases where barriers to understanding exist.

o   To be able to educate, motivate and persuade others through advanced communication & presentation skills

o   To support and participate in the supervision, training and development of pre and post registration student nurses and new members of staff in line with professional requirements, advise junior colleagues and provide specialist / highly specialist advice to other practitioners

o   To line manage specific staff within the team including carrying our appraisals and 1:1 reviews.

Person specification

Adult Nursing BSc

Essential criteria
  • Relevant experience in generalist or specialist nursing role
  • Hold a full, valid, UK driving license
  • Access to a car to use with business insurance
  • To be computer and IT literate
  • Be able to priorities task and respond appropriately to changing requirements
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in bladder and bowel dysfunction, urology or gynaecology and catheter care
  • Function well within a team
  • Be able to work on own initiative
  • Be adept at problem solving
