We have  a rare and  exciting opportunity within the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Team  for a Senior Immunisation Nurse to work as part of the leadership team providing clinical leadership within the immunisation team.

We are looking for a public health focused registered health care practitioner to join our  team . The team work across the whole county providing immunisations in schools and community settings to a variety of age ranges.  This role would require the successful candidate to work across the whole range of vaccines which the service delivers, which includes babies, and adults

You will be part of a friendly and supportive integrated team delivering a locally driven needs led service, ensuring children and their families are at the heart of service delivery.

Main duties of the job

The School Aged Immunisation Service are  looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated Senior Immunisation nurse.

The post holder will provide clinical professional leadership and line management to a team of clinicians.

The role will require the successful candidates to travel across the whole county and so you must hold a full valid driving license and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include delivering the public health message regarding immunisations to parents, carers, schools and stakeholders, ensuring maximum uptake of immunisations in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

As a senior immunisation nurse  you will demonstrate excellent interpersonal & communication skills and have the ability to be adaptable and flexible.

You must hold a full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of post registration continuing professional development
  • Degree in Public Health or equivalent
  • Public Health England, Immunisation training course or equivalent
  • Current Registration with NMC and knowledge of NMC Code of Professional Conduct
  • Mentorship or qualification teaching qualification or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of a range of clinical competencies appropriate to the role
  • Knowledge of recent developments in NHS
  • Knowledge of evidence based practice
  • Evidence of personal development

Experience and Knowledge

  • Demonstrable post registration experience
  • Experience of supervising a team
  • Experience of team work
  • Experience of working with other Agencies
