Job overview

We are looking for dentists to join our team of self-employed contractors providing urgent dental care across our Dorset and Devon clinics. The service provides urgent dental care covering weekends and Bank Holidays, with flexible working, you choose when and where you work with no minimum shift requirement. Working with fully qualified nurses, supported by on-call staff and a management team.

The South West of the UK is one of the sunniest places in the UK, with access to many beaches and activities such as surfing, walking in national parks, visiting national monuments and historic cities, and the coastlines including the Jurassic coast.

Our clinics are located in Barnstaple, Exeter, Plymouth, Newton Abbot, Dorchester and Boscombe.

Main duties of the job

Access Dental is a subsidiary of HUC who has been providing dental services in the South West for over a decade. This knowledge and experience coupled with HUC’s drive for innovation and service improvements makes this an exciting time to work in our service.

We are looking for more dentists to join our existing team who work for us on a self-employed basis, this means it is flexible, you choose your own sessions, matched to your preferences and availability.

Working for our organisation

Key information

  • Weekend and Bank holidays between the hours of 9:00-12:00 and 13:00-16:00
  • 30 minute triaged and pre booked appointments
  • Rate of £80 per hour weekends, and enhanced rate of £100 for a bank holiday weekend

Process

  • If you fulfil the person criteria we will invite to a discussion (via Teams)
  • After the discussion if you are successful you will proceed to the compliance process.
  • Once compliance is completed and clinically approved, provided with the necessary information, a familiarisation session and start working in the clinics.

Essential requirements

  • Registered with the GDC
  • Active performer number
  • Able to work independently alongside nurse and receptionist
  • Good experience and knowledge of delivering in and working in urgent dental care
  • Caring and compassionate
  • Willing and able to undertake necessary treatment to help address patient urgent dental care needs within the timescales
  • Good understanding of IT systems ability to use different software systems
