Job overview

     To work within the learning and development team providing effective professional quality support to enable the department to fulfil its function to a high standard.

     The main role will be to be involved in all aspects of coordination and support for apprenticeships.

     The post holder will manage their workload with advice from the team.

     You will play a critical role in promoting supporting and facilitating staff through their apprenticeship journey, building knowledge of the process and of education providers to act as a primary resource for our interested learners.

     Flexibility is essential to adapt to the competing demands and requests as well as cover colleagues as required.

     Experience in managing multiple systems and databases is essential.

Main duties of the job

Ensure that apprentices are adequately supported throughout their time on programmes.

To keep up to date with national and local developments which may affect delivery of apprenticeship programmes.

Maintain learner records to ensure audit requirements are fully complied with.

Provide outstanding pastoral support to apprentices during the period of their programme and facilitate guidance when required.

To participate in internal and external events as required

Support the promotion of apprenticeships across all services.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Clinical Responsibility

Identify and share good practice.

Provide pastoral support for learners in clinical environments.

 

Leadership and Staff Management Responsibility

To support learners’ supervision, training and development of employees/students/trainees or equivalent others, including whether they are responsible for recruitment, appraising and disciplinary matters.

Be open and approachable as well as proactive in discussing and agreeing a process to monitor an employee’s mental and physical health.

 

Financial Responsibility 

Manage resources effectively clinical, office and other equipment. 

Ensure compliance with the financial regulations of the trust.

To understand the apprenticeship framework and national levy  

 

Service Development and Improvement 

To participate in standardisation, self-assessment reviews and quality improvement activities.

To participate in quality assurance for the apprenticeships when required.

 

Communications 

To effectively communicate with external partners and education providers.

To be sensitive, contentiousness, and professional in all interactions within our own organisation, trust, and multi-professional staff groups.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Education to Level 3 and Maths & English GCSE (grade C/4) or equivalent
  • Assessor/Coaching qualification Level 3/4
Desirable criteria
  • Business administration qualification Level 3 or above

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Administration experience of at least 2 years
  • Demonstrate an understanding of apprenticeships and willingness to learn.
  • Computer experience and familiarity with word/excel and databases.
  • Ability to train/support others with energy and enthusiasm and provide a supportive environment.
  • Knowledge of assessment and training
Desirable criteria
  • Previous working experience in a related field
  • Thorough knowledge of apprenticeship frameworks and claiming
