Job overview

and mentor other team members in SQL proficiency.
The Senior Information Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data models and data sets, ensuring data integrity and accessibility across various departments. Their expertise will contribute to the optimisation of data workflows and the enhancement of data-driven strategies within the HPFT.
In addition to technical skills, the Senior Information Manager will collaborate closely with clinical and administrative staff to understand their data needs and provide tailored solutions. They will play a key role in translating data insights into actionable recommendations, supporting the continuous improvement of healthcare services. The ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders is essential, as is the experience in building and maintaining data models that align with NHS standards and regulations. This role is integral to fostering a data-informed culture within HPFT, driving efficiency and improving patient outcomes.
Main duties of the job
- Oversee the development and management of data models to support HPFT’s operations and data led decision-making
- Support in the design and implementation of robust data models and data sets, ensuring data integrity and accessibility across various departments
- Manage complex data queries using advanced SQL skills and coach other team members in SQL proficiency
- Collaborate closely with clinical and administrative staff to understand their data needs and provide tailored solutions
- Translate data insights into actionable recommendations to support the continuous improvement of HPFT’s services
- Support the optimisation of data workflows and enhance data-driven strategies within the organisation
- Communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively

Qualifications / Education / Training
Essential criteria
- Evidence of education and/or training in data analytics or information management concepts
- Advanced SQL certification or equivalent experience
- Experience in building and managing data sets using SQL
Desirable criteria
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Membership of professional bodies such as the British Computer Society (BCS)
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
- Proven experience in managing and leading a team of information analysts
- Experience in coaching or mentoring team members in technical tasks
- Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to manage complex data queries
Desirable criteria
- Experience with NHS data sets including MHSDS
- Experience in implementing data governance frameworks
