Job overview
Are you interested in working with children to ensure healthy outcomes for all? Would you like to be part of a friendly, innovative Public Health Nursing team 5-19? We have two posts available for a healthy Child and Young Person Assistant, one post based at Queensway Health Clinic in Hatfield and one post based at Bishops College in Cheshunt.
This posts are suitable for people with NVQ level 3 in Early Years or Childcare (BTEC, NNEB, CACHE Diploma) or previous experience as a Healthy Child and Young Person assistant.
The two positions advertised will be to assist in the delivery of the universal Healthy Child and Public Health Nursing Programme as part of the Hertfordshire Family Center Service. You will be working under the supervision of a Public Health Nurse in helping to improve the health & well-being of our school population. The main role is to plan, organise & undertake routine screening of hearing & vision of reception children plus participating in measuring children in reception class & Year 6 as part of the National Child Measurement Programme.
Main duties of the job

Is committed to delivering a high quality service to our children and families as an integrated model with Family Support Services
Is an innovative service that embraces the use of technology
Delivers the Healthy Child Programme by using an electronic health needs assessment process to identify individuals requiring early intervention pathways
Uses Chat health text messaging service
Has implemented two health websites for use by children, young people, families & professionals
The successful candidates will:
Be a team player and also be able to work independently
Have excellent communication skills to use with children and young people plus a variety of clients, professionals & staff
Have experience of electronic record keeping (this would be an advantage although full training will be given)
Have a full valid driving licence and access to a car to use for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
We are looking for a candidates that can work 22.5 hours a week

Essential criteria
- GCSE level qualifications or evidence of study to a similar level
- NVQ level 3 in Early years or Childcare (BTEC, NNEB, CACHE Diploma) or equivalent experience in relevant field
